American Idol Judges Save: New Rule, House Veto a Singer Voted Off

The American idol judges save is new for season eight of American idol and was explained on the first elimination show. The show has thirteen finalists this season and also has an extra judge for a total of four. Paula Abdul along with Randy Jackson will have to be unanimous with Simon Cowell and Kara Dioguardi and they can bring back a contestant from elimination with what amounts to a veto.

This isn't a bad idea. Just think if Chris Daughtry could have continued on that season he was eliminated ahead of Katharine McPhee. The final three could have been a boys club that season with Elliott Yamin and Taylor Hicks along with Daughtry. But alas, only one save this season and it will be interesting to see which singer it will bring back.

The singers also have a new house to live in. Zap 2 It muses, "They roll video of the kids' new crib. It's straight outta Top Model, with everyone grabbing their beds and "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing." A bowling alley? In this economy?" Maybe that is a bad idea, at least it's not a golf course.

One person the veto will not save is the first elimination from american idol season eight. Jasmine Murray is out and Randy Jackson says no save, she sings and is out.
